How Chalie gets access to your address book.

Connecting your address book

There is no separate Contacts connection to configure. Chalie reaches your contacts through the same account you connect for email under Capabilities → Mail. Once that account is connected, your address book becomes available automatically.

Step by step

  1. Open the Brain dashboard (the 🧠 brain icon in the top-right corner)
  2. Go to the Capabilities page in the Brain sidebar
  3. Find the Mail capability and click Setup
  4. Enter your Email Address and an App Password, then click Connect

See the Email Setup guide for full details on generating an app password. Connecting your account there is all that’s needed for Chalie to look up your contacts.

What Chalie can do with your contacts

  • Look up details — ask for any contact’s phone number, email, or address
  • Search by name — find contacts by first name, last name, or company
  • Cross-capability — say “email James” and Chalie finds his address automatically

Contact access is read-only: Chalie looks people up, it doesn’t add or edit entries in your address book.

Troubleshooting

  • No contacts found — confirm your account is connected under Capabilities → Mail; contact access depends on that connection
  • Authentication problems — re-check your app password in the Mail setup; contacts use the same credentials as email
